OK Guys, I realise that Everhbody hates these two questions, whats a good starter bike, and what fork is best for me.
Ive searched the forums and i couldnt find anything, in the near future ( as soon as i save up the funds more like) I will be purchasing a new FR frame to stick on my highly modded Specialized as ive sort of liked changed displines in the last couple of months, and i dont think my HR frame is going to last much longer with the beating im giving it lol.
But, as usual, when purchasing a Frame you want a new fork aswell ( well i do) because i dont really want to stick the only stock part on my Hr, apart from the frame, the fork onto a FR Hardtail Frame for obvious reasons the RST has served me well, but i think its time for a replacement.
Anyways, i have already decided on a frame, I want to get a Craftworks Rail Frame, i love those Frames and look so beefy and ideal for what i want as i love HT's and cant afford a FS :P so this is a good Frame for me, I read in a book that iots pretty heavy, this doesnt bother me, but does anybody know how heavy it is?
Back to the question, I need a fork to stick on this beast, and as im still working on a budget I was looking at the DJ series, but realised these arent really what i want as they are pretty heavy, and are designed for Dirt jumping.
I then looked at the Shiver SC, which i think is such a nice looking fork, but I have never tried one, would this be ok for a FR rig? but i dont always do fr, i often do longish rides of maybe 40 miles, but these are slowly getting phased out as they are starting to bore me and ive developed a taste for throwing me and my bike of the highest walls or drops that I can find :D
I then looked at the Z1 range, these look nice, but i dont know anything about them, can anybody tell me anything about these forks?
And last but not least, is the new marzocchi All-mountain Range, the all mountain 3 looks nice, i dont really want to break the bank buying these bits, so can anybody suggest a fork that they would use in a similar situation to what i am in please....
Not sure but you may need it, im 13 stone and 5 ft 8 inches tall.....
Any help is GREATLY appreciated because im really really stuck..
Thx
Lee
