Though I prefer old road bikes, I pick up the odd roadster, now and again. Sadly, there is not much I can do with them. However, I did have a chance to swap five of them the other day for one, eighties something Torpado Super Racing. I have always liked the Torpado bicycle and there is a fellow two blocks away with a really nice, chrome lugged, Columbus beauty from the late sixties or early seventies. But he is not interested in selling. Anyway, five for one...

That's what I thought except that I do not include anything in my heard except vintage road bicycles. That said...

I did some research and believe that the fellow can sell the bikes, where he lives, for at least $150.00 a price. The Favorit - probably a good deal more. The Favorit, the Universal and the Austrian Sears (http://www.mytenspeeds.com/My_TenSpeeds_1/Feature_Bicycles/Roadsters_Traders/Sears_Austria/Sears_Austria_1_Intro.htm) are all in remarkable condition and appear to be practically unused.

I have done business with this fellow before. He has purchased roughly three hundred bicycles from me and always been happy with what he gets. Just sent him a load of 149 bikes yesterday and he will probably be unloading them very early Monday morning before traffic heats up in TO.

So it was win-win. I still think I like your end, though. That Torpado is going to look great all cleaned up, especially from the drive side. ;)
