Hey all,
Just saying hey! I'm 42, 6'1" 270lb. Yeah gonna get that down. Been following you all for a bit and I look forward to some of the great results of cycling. Just brought home my new gym membership. A shiny new Marin Muirwoods 29er Urban assault vehicle. :speedy:

Ride for a couple of weeks, you'll get used to it. If you don't then think about getting a new saddle.

The fact that "Muir" is in the name of your bike is enough to tip my hat to you sir. John Muir is saucesome.
If I had one piece of advice to give myself when beginning, it would be something like: work your way into intensity over time. Let your joints, tissues, and muscles prepare for the slaughter you intend to face them with.

Thanks so much for the advice guys! I'ma taking it easy off the bat. I'm using muscles I didn't know existed and I've been playing ice hockey on a regular basis for about the last 5 years. You betchya Mr. Muir was an awesome fella. Now, to get to ride around some of his parks and monuments!!!
