Lone Star Randonneurs will have a 101k ride on Saturday, June 4, going from Grand Prairie to Maypearl and back. Ride is free, bring money for drinks or eats at a convenience store. This is a "populaire", meaning no membership is required. If you're interested, get in touch with me (stephenhazelton@yahoo.com), and I'll fill you in on more details and put you in touch with the ride host. An RSVP is required so we know how many to expect.
A populaire serves as an introduction to randonneuring. There will be some slower riders and some faster riders making the run, and they'll lilkely be riding in one or two groups. Typical rural roads with a few doggies to keep you motivated.
Seriously, I got started in randonneuring a couple of years ago and have had a lot of fun at it. I've enjoyed the scenery, enjoyed the challenge, enjoyed some good company along the way. C'mon out!
