Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Your Longest Point-to-Point Ride on a Fixie?

Title says it all...what is the longest point-to-point ride you've ever done on a fixie?

Where did you start? Where did you finish? What sticks out most in your memory about the ride?

Longest for me (which wasn't far at all but I'm a complete fixed gear noooob) was about 33 miles from Huntington Beach, Ca to Signal Hill, Ca for a party. What sticks out for me was how amazing the beer tasted after the ride (it was my first 'real' ride and I was beat).

I thought I was badass, going to ride bike MS 100 in a few weeks on a fixed gear.

I plan on doing some Fixed Gear Touring. Would that be considered point to point? :)

I really haven't done much distance yet.

Longest was probably from San Jose to the start of the April Bike Party + the route, so like 33ish miles.

This year will be my 4th year. I'm going with a bunch of first timers this time so i'm doing the 2 day and expect the average pace to be 11-13 mph :cry:

bring a camera then! you'll have alot of free time to pix the **** outta everything

point-to-point? Maybe 20 miles. I dont really do point-to-point rides with great length

^yeah, point to point like 28 miles there, break, 28 miles back. Total in a day at most was about 80 miles.

Awesome. I contemplated doing it fixed, but I decided to use STP as an excuse to build up a road bike. It'll be my first time come July, doing in two days since my lady friend's family lives near the halfway point.

On topic, my longest fixed ride is probably around 35 miles.

Just 40 miles for me. And I'm 240 lbs. Lolz

100 miles... on my 1955 Raleigh.

A little secret is that on a fixed gear with proper gearing and a route that isn't mountainous you will often come off the bike feeling fresher than if you did it on a multi-speed... long distance riders know that coasting will kill you and with a fixed gear the legs never stop moving.

I rode to Redondo beach and back from my place in Los Feliz once. It was technically round trip, but I didn't stop when I got there, just turned around and came back, so that's probably the same as point to point eh? 50 miles roughly..

Not total time, there are service stops every 25 miles for food, bathrooms, repairs, etc.

probably around 20 miles. I don't usually do point to point as I come back home, but I hope to be getting some friends together to do some sort of a weekend ride to some cool place (yeah nothing is set in stone at all haha)

Point to point on my fixed gear would be 22.08 miles to work then the 22.08 miles home when I leave. It is in a rather 'hilly' area of Wisconsin so the commute is a little tough. Im geared at 48/18 so it is not horrible on the uphills and I can still spin it out pretty good on the flats and downhills.

Anything larger than 25 or so miles i'd switch to a geared bike in my area. The hills get verrrryyyy long and have some pretty good gradients.

62 miles today. From Wageningen to Amsterdam. Took me way too long because i got lost and it was a 30 C day.

longest: back-to-back ms150 centuries, dead flat. 102 sat, 107 sun. ~20mph both days.
[technically a round-trip, over 2 days. does that count?]

worst: 105 w/~6k climb, 40-45F, wind/light rain. ~18mph.

46/16, comfy/fast steel frame, drops/levers/brake, 25c open corsa.

100 miles around oahu in boardshorts and my butt hurt for a week

68 mile lake loop. i can't imagine doing stp in one day fixed.

average of 200 miles in 4 days carried a **** load of food and other nonsense.
I rode from half moon bay-->uc santa cruz-->marina-->monterrey-->big sur
