Hi all, I am scratching my head trying to find a hybrid bike, flat bar, for a man who is 205 cm tall. It needs to be good quality with the right geometry - particularly top tube. He will use for touring and commuting. Custom build is probably best but out of the guy’s budget. Looking at up to £1500.
Thanks!!!!!

The 2011 Motobecane Cafe Noir is about $700 and comes in a 64 cm frame.

Motobecane also makes 64 cm road bikes which are inexpensive enough to be converted to a flat bar.

Your budget is pretty generous... you could probably have a custom built touring bike built for very close to that amount.

If touring is the primary function of the bike I'd look for a touring bike... which will double as an awesome commuter while a hybrid may not double as a touring bike nearly as well.

The Surly LHT comes as tall as 62 cm and if you are 205cm tall you probably weigh a few more stone than I do so you should be looking for a frame and wheels that will stand up to a heavier rider.

You're in the UK?? If so, another place to look would be St John Cycles (Thorn bikes); I believe they make both their Club Tour (700c) and Sherpa (26") tourers in very large sizes. Might suit? Both could be ordered/built up within budget.
