My campy Victory crank takes a 9mm helen wrench.Today it arrived and I tried tightening both sides to eliminate a knocking noise and alas it didn't help.I decided to loosen it completely to remove the crank and after about a turn counter clockwise it stopped turning. Is there something I should know about before I start turning with force?(going to work now so I'll be back on the air in 8hrs)

I'm not sure about your model crank but many have "autoextractors", that is a collar around the crank fixing bolt that the bolt pushes against as you remove it. Typically the bolt will loosen a turn or so then get tight again as it comes up against the collar. Keep turning the bolt and it will pull the crank off the spindle.
