Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Full Kit

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
So do any of you peeps rock a full kit on your rides (ya know, bibs, jersey, etc.)? Just wondering because it gets uncomfortable just wearing sweats. If you don't, what do you wear?
And no, I am not just going to "harden the frick up."
No kit here -- as little as possible. It's getting to be shorts and sandals weather.

Depends, if I'm just riding around doing nothing with my friends some shorts and a t shirt, anything over 10 miles and I put on some cycling shorts under my shorts. I'll wear the Jersey if it's clean.

old worn out shoes that feel nice in my straps and cut off slacks from the thrift store. Keep it simple when riding
shirt, athletic shoes, change of pants, swim trunks, tools, lights and lock in my bag
Usually. But if I'm just riding directly to work and it's a cool morning, I'll just ride in office clothes.

Team kits. There is nothing more comfy that riding in a kit.

I really need to get a kit. I have riding shorts but that's it.
If i'm going to be on the bike awhile, I wear cycling shorts under my regular shorts. I also wear wicking shirts..not necessarily jerseys but the same material for a fraction of the cost from Target. That's my usual commute wear, or long weekend rides.
If i'm just cruising to the store, or a bar that's not more than a few miles, i'll just wear regular clothes. Never "full kit" though..

Almost the same as others response:
If im just cruising around the city, or heading to get some food I just wear jeans and shirt / coat / whatever the weather is dress for it.
If im going anywhere on a 'ride' I do where a full kit. Or, as bhop said, some riding shorts and a wicking shirt. I do enjoy full kits / jerseys though. I think sometimes people need to get the whole "i need street cred" thing out of their mind and start thinking a bit about comfort. A nice kit really improves your riding experience due to actually being comfortable and allowing your body to breath well. I know some say they are comfortable in just jeans (as i am too on not super long rides), but at least buy some cycling shorts.
Also remember that cycling shorts are meant to not have underwear under them when you are wearing them. Just rock the shorts either alone, or if you're afraid of tight clothes (which most of you shouldn't be as you probably rock skinny jeans..haha..jk), at least rock some shorts under your other shorts.

Cheap cycling shorts under whatever shorts/pants I'm wearing, and a tshirt. Hoodie if it's cold, and a cheap spray jacket if it's raining.

I ride with baggy MTB shorts if it's going to be more than riding around campus. Full kits are for nerds.

I do a lot of my fitness rides at night after work so usually I dress full summer kit for comfort. But if I am running errands around town or going to be stopping in stores and such, then usually just regular clothes. Shorts, polo shirt etc.
FWIW, I live near a high school so if I cruise past in full kit when the lil' bastards are around I usually get a chorus of "Loser! ho-mo! Dork!"
Not that I really care, just a little reminder of my station in life.

Just keep in mind this, they slam a person in a kit, but they likely live a pathetic sedentary life outside of school.

If it's the kind of ride that calls for it. I do like kits a lot but sometimes it isn't all that necessary

How do you say that you wear a jersey cause it's more breathable when you can just not wear a shirt? I could understand maybe if you have sensitive skin that burns real easy. I tan for hours before getting red and even then i always have my bag on my back.

I wear cycling shorts (or skorts) on my commute, and wicking tank top/tee shirt/etc as needed. When it's cold, I wear some cheap Target running tights over the shorts. When it's really cold (winter), it's smartwool tights, running tights, shorts, possibly snow pants... Wool sweater, etc up top. Wool is the bomb when it's cold. (hint: check Marshalls and other discount dept stores after Christmas - you can find a bunch of gift cashmere and other wool sweaters on sale pretty cheap.)
For touring (30-100miles) I love cycling shorts and jerseys. I don't have any true "kits" but jerseys not only are breathable and comfy but I love the back jersey pockets.
For riding around town, I wear jeans or skirts with shorts or leggings underneath.

I guess it was in reference to maybe a thicker, more traditional cotton / blend t-shirt really. A rephrase: Compared to a thicker, more traditional cotton / blend t-shirt, I find that a jersey / wicking shirt is more breathable.
As for riding with no shirt, sorry, i'm not about that at all. Not saying that having on a jersey / regular shirt will keep my body healed from road rash, but it'll sure help a tad more than if I fell with no shirt on at all. Plus, i enjoy the back pockets almost all riding jerseys come with.

There are long debates in the road forum on this. It seems the use of a base layer and jersey is as good as riding bare
If/When I get a jersey it will be a Yuengling one

I don't even think about cycling shorts unless it's gonna be at least 20 miles. I only wear jerseys for special occasions and usually opt for T-shirts - 6.1 oz cotton in moderate temps. 4.5 oz cotton for heat stroke temps.
Just wondering because it gets uncomfortable just wearing sweats.
Did you really say "sweats" ??? I'd have to be paid dearly to wear sweatpants, especially while riding. Hoodies are OK in the winter, though.
sportful bibs under a v neck and cargo shorts or jeans
when I do wear kit I rock the kucharik 1934 expo team jersey and short harlequin for the win

I never even considered kitting up when I'm on my fixed gear, for me its more of a fun thing, if I want to do a serious ride I take out the roadie.
You never do a serious ride on the FG?
