Hello all,
Searched around on google and came up with nil on this. My Oryx's squeek like crazy, with Kool Stop mountain pads. They also lock up nicely if I'm not careful. The first time I bent my bars, today traffic stopped for me, which was nice.
So, anyway, They've got a lot of slop in them, I took them off and they're different from the regular old ones. They don't pivot on the bosses, they pivot within themselves.
The thing is, I can't figure out how to disassemble them so that a.) I can grease them, and b.) figure out how to put shims in to take up some of the play.
I think this has a lot to do with the squeeking and the tendency to be 'grabby'. The backs are fine, it's the fronts that are painful. If I can't solve it, I'm tempted to put on some old Shimano Cantis that I scrounged from a dumpstered Schwinn. This has the post style that takes the nice thick pads.
Any thoughts on this would be super appreciated,
muchas gracias,
Garth
