I'm looking for a new frameset for a build this summer, and I'm kind of at a stopping point. I'm going to build this one up as my nicer bike, with my Kilo being the beater/borrow/box it to Milwaukee bike. Heres what I'm looking for:
- 1 1/8 fork.
- Ovalized Downtube (purely aesthetics)
- Steel or Aluminum
- Price range of (hopefully) less than 600

I've ridden my friends Trek T1, which I love, but I'm not sure what else is out there really.

enim;

what are you using this one for? racing on a track? sunday rides? supping squirls?

i was in the same boat as you except i wanted what you described for my beater/lockup bike because my kilo had too many nice parts on it and i decided if i was going to start racing i wanted it to be on a crappy bike i loved, like the kilo. so i got a visp. your options range from visp to fuji track pro.

i would suggest a dodici special except i think it's more than 600 with shipping, and anything nicer(cinelli) is more (850).
i'd suggest a wabi lightning but i think you mean 'aero teardrop' not 'ovalized.

Sorry man, I kind of rushed that post.

This is going to be my nice weather, everyday, Suppin' QTs bike - probably will split duty 50/50 with the Kilo. Its like, if its nice out and I'm feeling good, take that bike, or if I may go to the bar/it may rain/i may end up in a ****ty part of town, I'd take the Kilo.

I do think that I'm looking for ovalized rather than aero. Not something huge like the older FTP's or 725s, but closer to the Kilo's. I could be cool with a noticably larger DT than TT as well.

For what its worth, this bike is PROBABLY going to be built up with Sram S300's, custom mid-v wheelset (Velocity Aero's or Fusions), and a carbon fork probably.

The more recent bianchi pista(the steel one) has a much more subtle ovalization that I dig the looks of.

Or the Team Track? There's your carbon fork and deep wheelset.

**** all the other suggestions, they're all crap. get the wabi lightning.

(i'm just kidding, you couldn't really go wrong with any of these, but the only one i'd consider over the lightning is the 722ts and honestly i think it's just a much nicer kilo, so why not get something very, very different...)
