Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - Memorial Day Sufferfest climb video-Max 20% grade

A big thanks to BF member 4score for telling me about two of the climbs in this video. These are all in and around Auburn, CA. The first one is Eagles Nest. My Garmin went nuts when I started the climb, reading 29% for a bit before settling down to 19%, so I'll give it a 1% benefit of the doubt and say it is 20%.

The next climb is a bumpy state park road that climbs out of the canyon off Maidu Drive. The descent was so bumpy it made me feel like I had to pee:o That feeling went away as soon as I reached the bottom of the hill:lol: This climb wasn't real hard at 7-8% most of the way, so I only put the short 11-12% section in the video.

The last climb is Shirland Tract Road, both directions. I read that this is a hard climb. It was a good one:D

Bottom of the state park road. I bet that's a great mtb climb!

You're welcome:) Yup, it hurt. The only videos I can call "Sufferfest" are the ones with painful climbs. I don't want to be misleading:lol:

Yes. On the descent I saw several new houses being built, so those "for sale" signs were on empty lots that haven't been developed yet.

I have no idea. Victory Velo is an Auburn LBS that I think sponsors a race team. I saw riders wearing their team kit last summer up on Donner Summit when I was recording video of the hill climb time trial as a spectator.
