I was wondering if any cyclist in Salt Lake City, Utah has done the loop starting in SLC to Big Mountain Pass - East Canyon - Morgan - Weber - Legacy Highway and back to SLC? Specifically if you have to ride on I-84, or is there another route of similar duration without having to ride on the interstate? Thanks.

Yeah, I did that ride once last year. I forget the mileage, but it's gotta be a century plus from the mouth of Emigration and back. Yes, we rode I-84 and it's increasingly dicey (narrowing shoulder, big storm grates, speeding big rigs) the closer you get to the turn off to 89 which we took down to the Legacy in Bountiful. I'd do the ride again definitely. Go for it.
I wouldn't do the ride in reverse though!
How long did that take you? I think I just pulled a hammie thinking about that one.

92mi and 5'23" riding time. Only 5k ft of climbing heavily weighted to the beginning of the ride.
Would've been ~95mi had I ridden back to the mouth of Emigration Canyon where we started. I rode home instead.

awesome. time to start psyching myself up and do this thing.
I don't really know much about the legacy parkway,
how do you get there coming off I-84? is it the same as 89?

I don't recall the specifics, but it was intuitive. There's a giant parking lot at the north end of the Legacy ... I think it's in Farmington. You can't miss it.
