Mountain Biking - Is there a "Click in" platform for clipless' for Time ATAC Z?

For times where for whatever reason I will be wearing street shoes, or practicing a specific trick that I DO not want to be cliped in, or want to mess with the clips at all...

Without taking off the pedals and putitng on plaftorms, I'm hoping to find some sort of doo-hickey thinjamee that I can click onto the pedals to turn it into a pure platform. I've seen this for other pedal systems (SPD for example), but I am yet to find one that will work with Time ATAC Z's.

Any of you know of a product? Thanks!

Hmmm this was exactly the thing I was talking about when I said I think I found something for SPD's.. But I think I finally get it.

Correct me if I am wrong.. but I now believe that I get this plaftorm you sent me, AND then get the correct cleats to mount on it?

And I might add... in hindsight, this was obvious that those pedals you directed me right back to would have worked. Those are just "shoes" that you install cleats onto... hehe

Ya i know the other playforms your talking about. They came with my spd 505 pedals. they have the cleat (so to say) built in. Besides those are plasitc or the composite stuff. Anyhow those were a pain to get out since the plasitc cleat would kind of stretch out when i was trying to get it off.

Jallen, you need two left cleats or did you get a matched pair of pedals finally? You might find you can ride your pedals with street shoes for short ride to the store if you are careful not to slip off. The platform would make it a lot easier probably.

hahahaha they're on the way, gmsdc15. Just called pricepoint.com just now, and they're gonna VERIFY this time I get a R and a L. (Too bad they didnt do that first time, or the second time.. lol). They were really nice about it.

I just KNOW it, if I order a pair of cleats I will get two left cleats, with my luck. :lol:

Where I live, there is no short ride to the store, just rugged cow trails, about 5 miles of it, then the highway to the nearest store... so I think I'll get platform pedals.. hahaha

Cool! Actually, you can mount the cleats either way. One way is for beginners and requires less twist to release. If you switch left/right to other shoe you get advanced position which is less likely to release inadvertently (requires more twist of foot to release.). I'm not explaining this as clearly as the directions that come with the cleats will. I would reccomend you set them up for advanced rider although you are beginner. They are not hard to use in advanced position. You may fall over once or twice anyway if you come to a stop and forget you are clipped in. If you remember to twist your foot, either position will come off quickly.

Thanks for the pointers.. I will probably try them both ways and see.. doesnt look too difficult to experiment.

Getting two same-side cleats would suck though.. uneven release.. hehe
