Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - Clydes, help a big man pick a saddle!

Hey everyone!

I ordered this saddle from amazon a few days ago.

Unfortunately it's out of stock and someone from niagra saddleworks told me i could pick one of their saddles under $30 as a replacement, or cancel the order. As I'm on a tight budget, I cant afford a really nice brooks saddle or anything like that, so this is looking as good as it gets.

I'm 6"5 400lbs. My bro might also use it who's 6"1 350 pounds. We're both big guys but don't necessarily know how wide our sitbones are. I ride a trek 7200 in a more upright position.

Save up for a Brooks B17

If you're REALLY on a tight budget, I recommend Persons saddles as a cheap Brooks knockoff - http://www.permaco.com/ (click on the "Persons Saddles" in the bottom of the left frame).

They probably won't last as long as a Brooks, but you should get a few years on them, which should be enough time to save for a Brooks.

B17 is wide enough for a big butt like mine?

I have found this one to be quite comfortable for more upright riding. It's only flaw is that it sits farther forward on the seat post and puts more weight on your arms. If you can get an angled seat post to move it back an inch or two it would be great.

Still breaking in a brooks b-17, so far its a great improvement, just applied the second coat of proofide, and made an adjustment, love the saddle
