Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Best bike for ~$400

I have always rode mountain bikes my whole life, but when I moved to college I was introduced to fixed gear and single speed bikes and I was hooked. When I rode mountain bikes I usually very rarely change gears so a single speed bike just seem logical for me. My question is for $400 what bike should I get? Maybe multi-speed road bike is better for me? Please advice me on my next purchase.

If you read the description on the website it says it comes with free front and rear brakes....

The description of the Pro includes a list of what is different; the frames are the same I believe.

In terms of what to buy, a Kilo TT is almost unquestiomably the best fixed gear at the $400 price point. Like all fixed gears though, be prepared to pay a couple extra hundred on parts in the next year or two (it's quite the upgrading addiction).

Anchorage? Have you ever been there? I hated that place. (Sorry if anyone lives there) Dreaded having to go there to get supplies/pick up people from the airport. There are so many way cooler places in Alaska.

go to your lbs, tell them you have $400 for a fixed gear, and wait for them to order you a torker u-district or redline 925.

I agree that there are cooler places than Anchorage, but I have a thing for larger cities. My goal is to have an apartment in Anchorage and a cabin somewhere near the mountains.
