i have some valeo weight lifting gloves. they're great when you don't need fingers.
if you need fingers:

pow ozone pipe gloves
http://snowboardthings.com/images/x/21862.Color.Accessories_GreenTan_Image.jpg
leather palm and fingers, mesh poly sueded upper that breathes but is tough and absorbant.

ten bucks on sale after snow season and they're great.

I rock the Izumi Select gloves in warm weather. Warm weather to me is 60 degrees and up.

I am all about cloth tape and these guys give me a little bit of padding. And next time I eat ****, at least my palms won't get scratched up.

Cheapo fingerless bell gloves, mainly to keep the cheap rubber on my cheap handlebars off my palms and ease the tension of commuting on a flat bar. Nothin' special, but they work.

Cheapo no padding gloves at the co-op because gloves are there to protect my palms when I fall

I bought a pair of these last year but the leather around the fingers is so thin it started disintegrating right away. Now there's a split in the leather between every finger.

So now I'm using some Saranac gloves I got as a door prize at a ride last fall. One of the Velcro straps pulled out on one glove, but I sewed it back in and it's doing ok so far.

Those saranac gloves are pretty nice once they break in, too bad I lost mine :-/

Just about any that I find that will keep my hands warm, and protect in the rare event of a spill. I don't seem to need them for cushioning.

Does anyone have any recommendations for crochet-back cycling gloves? The Nashbar ones seem to get pretty good reviews, but I was wondering if anyone has tried any others.

Thanks.

One, because they are Nike, and I respect the brand and their corporate ethics.

Two, skiddz gripz.

/sarcasm

Cheap gloves with crochet or terry cloth for the sweat.

breathe great on top, haven't done a long enough ride to give comfort a great review. also ordered a size bigger than normal because people said they run small and I'm glad I did. Ordered an XL and they fit perfectly... and I've never thought I had large hands.

Cutters wide receiver gloves. Their C-Tack palm is super sticky, which gives a bit of security when you're really flinging the bike around. And you can probably find a color to match your kit.

But I also have a set of the POW MOB gloves on the way, just because they're cheap and I'm intrigued by the carbon knuckles.

To keep me warmer at times(but not hot), better grip, comfort, prevent blisters, and because my bar tape is suckage.

This. I usually don't wear gloves and just deal with the slight pain in my palms. But when I do, it's these. No specific preference or anything, it was just an anniversary present from an ex-girlfriend. Maybe that's why I don't wear them that often...

minor update: took the Izumi gloves out in 99 degree weather right now and wasn't bothered by wearing them at all. for the price I'm incredibly happy (under $20)
