Calendar says June, weather says January. My cat is just looking at me. I think he is contemplating on doing me in. :twitchy:

Went to the LBS to buy a water bottle cage yesterday. When I made a comment about the prolonged winter weather, the cashier called it "June-uary".

Sequoia century tomorrow - after WCC 2009 and Primavera 2010 I figured I'd avoid a soaking organized ride this year. Apparently not.

I'm going out for a short spin in the rain. I hate riding in the rain, but I hate weekend trainer rides even more!

Swapped my wheels and crank to my rain bike yesterday. I didn't think I would be riding it for a few months.

How depressing, even though my commuter has fenders, I really can't get the motivation to venture out.

+1 on the depression. It really needs to stop before Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) sets in. BTW, I heard that the suicide rate in Seattle is higher because of their constant miserable weather.

Got in another flat ride last night, this time all the way to South Sac to deliver a folding TV tray to a friend (gotta love living car-lite and getting rid of stuff I don't need:thumb:). Of course the crap started again on the way home by the time I was a few blocks from home. I really wish it would just quit, as I can tell that all the climbing is making me stronger on flat ground. I was able to get that Worksman Port-O-Trike going pretty fast. :D I would really like to be able to take a longer ride on a regular two-wheel bike and see how much faster I am.

Saturday afternoon the sun came out in Antioch and I managed to get in some hill sprints. I wore myself out, but it wasn't as much fun as a long ride would have been.

Well I got my white bike covered in crap at the sequoia century today. No rain, some sloppy roads.

It rained this morning but stayed dry for the rest of the day, so I got to have some fun in El Dorado Hills this afternoon. Also caught another dog encounter on camera. What is it with the loose dogs in this particular part of EDH? This is the second dog incident I've had in less than a month, although this one was more positive than last month's. Last month I was chased on a climb when I was almost to the top. Got that on video too. Same thing this month. This month I didn't see the dog on the descent, but he was waiting for me at the top of a switchback on the climb back out. Barked a little, then trotted alongside me until I reached the top.

Here's the video with the dog incident. It's on Marble Ridge Road. It's a narrow road in rough shape in spots, so I was a salmon at times to avoid the crappy pavement.

The dog is visible starting at 4:52.

It was a nice day here yesterday, started sunny, went to overcast, and stayed dry. The wind was very light all day. I put in 65 miles with friends, and was never bothered by the climate! Is it summer? Not yet, we don't have the Marine Layer (June Gloom) yet...

Yep. I got to the parking lot bright and early at 6:15 to meet my friends. Only to find out that one of them had over slept. He arrived at 7:00 and we started our ride 20 minutes later. W/ the late start, I knew we wouldn't meet.

I have to tell you, that is a great ride. The route is fantastic, the hills are a fun challenge, and the support is top notch (was lunch great or what?).

First time up Tunitas. What a great climb. First time descending down Alpine.
O M G !! So we got a bit wet on some of the descents. No biggie, we dried up.

Hope to see you on Diablo doing some repeats soon.

I managed to get in a short ride with the MOFG (Martinez Old Farts Group) between cloud bursts yesterday. We rode up Franklin Canyon Rd. to the top of McEwen, then back to Cummings Skyway over the hill to Crocket and back. We got sprinkled on a bit on the way back, but it didn't amount to much. Nice ride, but way too short. Had we stayed out any longer, though, we would have been dumped on big time. The cell I drove through on the way home was almost enough to force me to the shoulder of the freeway.

Looks like things'll improve starting tomorrow. Not a moment too soon...

Looks like Spring has been moved to Wednesday according to the latest forecasts.

The rain held out and it stayed dry both friday and saturday nights while I was at outdoor concerts, and it was dry enough on Sunday that I managed to get in a whole whopping 15 mile ride. Ok, 15 miles isn't too bad considering I've been sick for over a month with a cold and my shoulder is giving me grief...

It's almost frustrating enough to go and buy an indoor trainer...

I was in my car transiting the 242 to 4 east on the way to the range and passed through that cell. Traffic came almost to a stop, and visibility was very, very poor. I haven't seen rain come down that fast and furious in a long time. Localized cell, but really severe.

Agreed - that was a nice challenging route. Glad I had one match left to burn on Tunitas. I rode with a group from work, we kinda split up and regrouped all the way round the ride. Really enjoyed the scenery, Redwood Gulch was a fun little climb, the descent of Bear Creek was top drawer.
