Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Please don't buy this bike

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Went to a bike swap meet in Orange County since I'm down here for a few days. Saw a stand for a company called "Backwards Circle" selling their very own "custom" fixed gear bikes.
Please don't buy these. Although the dropouts and curvy seat-tube may allude to quality, I assure you this bike is a heavy pos in person. The components are all scary, Chinese-made crunchers.
They had a 60cm complete bike for $300 there. Not worth it.
http://www.backwardcircle.com//aboutus.asp "This is the bike you've been waiting for" (Oh really?)

Soo many shoddy fixed gear bike companies sprouting up. Are there late night commercials with guides to "Start your very own bike company today with fixie bikes. Very popular!!"?

Don't worry OP this is old news; we had overwhelmingly trolled and forsaken these backs long ago.

Good to hear they were rightfully denounced

You all lie! The sad thing is is that not only are they crap bikes, but they are horrendously overpriced (on the website).
Who would buy one of those over a brand new IRO/Steamroller/BigBlock?

what a scam...
Getting Lasco cranks on a $600+ dollar bike is tantamount to robbery

pardon the ignorance, but what about it?
the jank in the seat tube makes eyeballing it harder, but i'm not really seeing anything crazy. to my eyes the TT is long, but not outrageously so. a quick glance at the website and i couldn't find any geometry specs. any clue?
please note: this is in no way a comment on the quality of these frames...with which i have zero exposure.

helps clear barspinzz brah! :D
I think more manufacturers should offer that bent seat tube design.
That way you can actually sit on the bike properly with zero or very short setback seatposts.
It sucks like hell to have to buy special, extra long setback seatposts on small frames, because of their steep seat tube angle.

What could be more typical of coastal Orange County than half-baked and poorly designed businesses trying to cash in on what they see is a fad. These kinds of companies are a dime a dozen around here.
Specifically for this company...the linked blog with no entries in six months or the nonsense pricing...doesn't exactly instill the kind of trust I need to part me with my money.
