Touring - Please help me with my touring build

hello all ok I have pretty my finished my touring bike build idea just want to put it out for advice. thanks,

ok about where i ride and how i want to use bike; i use for on and off road, unpaved roads sand mud etc. f

Im young so currently trying to travel and work in as many place as possible thus i will have to get flights other transport etc and bike has to come (also bike has to be light not because im a weight weenie because bagage limits so 12kg or less is target, and those corrupt ferry crossing police, or catch a train in china with bike....Therefore thinking of a ritchey breakway one which i can get second hand for 350£

willing to spend money but would prefer to spend it on flights to brazil etc maybee 1500£ but if i can get what i wnat for 600£ Thats fine and then thats a flight to some other wonderful country I havent been.

as durable as possible given budget... so as much i as i would like a rolhoff actually no its too heavy, i can make do with a sturmney archer aw (http://www.cyclesofyesteryear.com/cycleshop/sturmy-trade.htm) like my hero heinz stucke http://www.cyclingnorthwales.co.uk/pages/heinz_st.htm and i'd like to put an enclosed chain gaurd for real low maintainance :), as i live in a sand/dusty place at the moment. the sturmy archer also allows for a undished wheel wheel ive been told is stonger.

so i think one of the cheapest ways to get what i want is to buy a second hand bike of something i want then just just swop all the part any recommendations?

May be difficult for some to know what you are asking given the presentation format.

+1 - not sure what you are asking.

Your first post is so vague and rambling that it is very difficult to answer. You begin by speaking of a touring bike build and take off from there.

Given your preferred cost of 600 pounds, I suggest you buy one or two bikes second hand and use one as the donor bike to finish the other. You won't be paranoid when shipping you used bike on planes and trains. You will also gain valuable familiarity with the bike and it's maintenance.

You can't afford a traditional build from the frame up with new parts.

I hope you are in a reasonably sized city so there is a reasonable supply of used bikes to choose from.

chainglider covers the whole chain . but only IG hubs ,Nexus is probably out of your budget as described
and old AW3's are everywhere..

a 38 t crank a 22t on the hub, built into a hardtail non suspension fork MTB frame.

3 ratios 33,45,59" 24" low gear , get off and push, on your 2 feet.
rest of it is what you find comfortable ..
trekking bars and V brakes are a decent combo.

and the saddle is between your butt and the saddle
outsiders have no reason to interfere with that decision

ok to clarify...

i want;a bike that fits in a suitcase (26x26x10), under 12kg, with a igh (i think sturmey archer are most proven, suffcient gear inches and relavtively lightweight, and cheap), encloesd chain (willing to mod a bike with no horizontal droputs etc to make this work), and 2" tyres

any recommendations?

If you're in the UK you should be able to find an old raleigh twenty for cheap and with a 350GBP budget you could totally revamp the thing... there are many great R20 upgrades that have been done, search the folding bike forum and look at the raleigh twenty forum (http://raleightwenty.webs.com/) that is out there too, it's full of great rebuilds and upgraded twenties... a very versatile bike and it usually comes with the AW hub you want too. Dunno if you could get it down to 12kg though...
