Tandem Cycling - Experimental TT Tandem

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Here is a pic of our new bike. It is not quite how I would of done it if I started from scratch, but it saved a bit of time by utilising an old funny bike frame I had.
The main thing is to see if it works with this configuration and the subsequent lightly loaded front wheel. It definitely isn't for using with a heavy stoker.
Only been up and down the road a few times so far. Didn't fall off which is good, but it does feel a bit different.

That thing looks dangerous... But I think it's cool that you built it. ;-)

A heavy stoker would make it a captain catapult.

I wonder if a quick corner might do the same.

I just hope the eventual name of this invention is not eponymous.

Damn short wheelbase!
I think you need a front rack. With something on it. Like a car battery.
I like it, now let's stuff some rear suspension in there and it will be a singletrack machine. Not sure the stoker will enjoy the view with a big dropoff below her.
It could wheely, and get over stuff without dragging.

Very innovative design! Remove the front brake, minimize side loads and you can probably remove most of the front wheel spokes to save weight.
