Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Vittoria Randonneurs vs Pasela TGs both 28c, any opinions

Need some new creme/white tires. I understand the white Randonneurs turn pretty much cream color as the get dirty.

Any thoughts/opinions of which are better tires? The Paselas run about $10 more per tire but I usually have them awhile so I'm not too concerned.

I've ridden on 25c Pasela TGs and Randos. I prefer the Paselas hands down. They're lighter, are rated for higher psi, have less rolling resistance and are tough as nails. I find Randos to be feel a little on the sluggish side.

Never used Paselas, but I used to ride 28 randos on my old bike. I agree with Scrod's quote above. Also, I had tons of flats after switching to those tires, which could just be coincidence...

Don't want to thread-jack, but is there a big difference between Paselas and Pasela Tourguards? I'm aware the Tourguards increase flat-resistance but is it a substantial difference/worth the money?

I have no experience with the regular Paselas but I've never gotten one flat in well over a year of riding on my Pasela TGs.

Scrod, how are the Paselas as far as holding up with skidding? I got a couple in at my shop just to check out when I go through the Randos I have now, and they just seem a little thin to me. I love my Randos and have no probs or complaints with them, but I'm always welcome to try out some new tires, and these are easier for me to get my hands on through our distributors here at work. I ride at least 20miles a day and would actually favor the higher psi, but like I said, they are just thinner than the Randos and that's my only concern.

Not to get off topic or thread jack but I think the shwalbe marathon is another tire that fits in with the thick rubber tread and good flat resistance of the pasella and the randonneur. I've been running one for a while and it's holding up great
