I am a huge fan of alcohol stoves. I love my Trangia and have been using it everyday on my current trip across China, Tibet, Nepal, and India (I'm in Kathmandu at the moment). When I was back in China a few months ago I came across an outdoor shop that stocked a brand called Alocs that seems to be Chinese. They had a stove that was a dead ringer for a Trangia except for the addition of an improvement! A small piece of metal that allows you to adjust the flame while your cooking without burning your hands! I should have picked one up while I was there since the price was very cheap. However, I had my sights on a new cook set because the one I had brought was too large for what I ended up using it for. Actually the shop owner was really cool and impressed with my trip. He ended up giving me an Alocs cook set in exchange for my too big set from Korea that I was going to give him for free!

The quality of the products seems pretty good. The set that I am now using is excellent, perfect size, light, and easy to clean. My question for your fine folks is if you have used any of their products and where I might be able to source them in the US? I found this sight that seems to stock a limited supply of their stuff for sale in the States: http://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?SearchText=alocs+&catId=0

You will notice that they carry a version of the Alocs imitation full windscreen 25 and 27 series cooksets! They are a bit pricey, considering how cheap they were in China, but there seem to be some other added, possible, improvements in design here as well. You can see an entire range of their products on this site but it seems that they only sell in bulk. If other people on this site are interested, this might be an option.... not sure. http://kingpool.en.makepolo.com/product.html

You can see the set that I am currently using on my CGOAB journal here: http://www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/page/?o=RrzKj&page_id=183697&v=VI

So... sorry for the long post but I am pretty excited to find a new company that is making alcohol stoves and seems to be improving on tested designs. Where can I buy this stuff?

I just saw a few pieces from them on Ebay not the actual stove or the full kit listed above. I will try and watch that sight for more stuff that might appear though.
