I have an old 2001 'trek 2300', aluminum frame. I doubt I could get much on the market, but I was wondering if perhaps it would be a better idea to refit another frame using the 9-speed ultegra componets off the 2300? Although a fast bike, the 2300 frame was always too big for me at 60cm. New Ultegra bikes are pretty expensive these days, at least in the $3k range. What say the experts? Sell the bike 'as is', or use for parts?

Other than the extra cog in back, I doubt you could tell a difference in terms of actual performance between new Ultegra and what you've got. If you have or can easily get a nice frame that fits, I'd say strip the 2300 and get what you can for the frame. Elsewise, it'll be easier to sell complete.
