Northeast - How about that Queensboro bridge?

Anyone else really digging the construction? I'm happy that paint fumes can now be added to the sensory experience of going up the bridge from the Queens side at rush hour. Exhaust fumes so bad you can barely breathe, the sound of engine brakes and horns of all kinds from the stopped traffic on your left, not to mention the subway rattling along to your right making sure that you can't hear yourself think.

Oh and the fact that the construction is occupying more and more of the freshly painted bike lane. I <3 NY

word, queens is hell and the 59th Street Bridge is its Black Gates.

however, i do drive through that area, and they're doing a lot of good paving and planting. looks like it might look good once it's done.

The bike lanes after the bridge should make it a lot safer. The Ed Koch is one of the best bike/bridge's is NYC. The painting does impact the lane but it is necessary maintenance.

Queens does have a reasonable bike path that leads you to the World Fairs grounds and beyond.

The subway tracks run along the multi-use pathway on the Queens side for about 100 yards.

While we're hatin' on the QBB, dont forget those gaudy tourists and waving children in those flying gondolas to Roosevelt Island that just ruin the moment!

What kind of moment are you having on the Bridge?

If you want subway noise go over to the Manhattan Bridge. The B train will rattle your teeth.
