Howdy,

I've got a complete 7400 groupset (including 7400 hubs laced to Mavic G40s) that I can't figure out how to go about selling. Shipping wheels is a PITA, so I was thinking Sell the groupset on eBay and sell the wheels locally. The group includes the following:

RD-7400 rear derailleur
FD-7400 front derailleur
BR-7400 calipers
FC-7400 cranks w/English BB
BL-7400 brake levers
MF-7400 freewheel
HB-7400 hubs laced to Mavic G40 700c clinchers and Dura-Ace skewers

I think that's it. What do you guys think? Heck, I even toyed with the idea of building a bike out of it to sell, rather than as a grouptset. The thought of splitting all this up into separate auctions gives me chest pains :)

Any insight is MUCH appreciated. It's a lovely groupset, I just don't need it.

IMO... you will get more money but have more work doing sepearte auctions. I prefer to post stuff in the BF classified and c&v for sale section first... no ebay fee and your dealing with educated buyers.

Shipping wheels is not that big of a pain if you have the right size box... if you do ship the wheel just make sure they are insured for more than the replacement value.

my advice start by posting pictures and list on BF...

Good advice. Personally, I always like to see complete groups sold as complete groups. So the hubs are an integral part of the group and it would be nice to have them together.

Putting the parts on a bike might actually net you less than you could have gotten separately. Complete builds never pan out the way we think they should. Well, they can if you find a motivated buyer.

Anyways, I agree with advertising here on the forum or on Craiglist or similar with the complete group and some nice photos.

Other than that, another way to maximize the parts value, if not price, is to consider trading the parts (which you don't need) for something valuable that you do need. Just a thought.
