Got a Trek 7000 WSD (Rigid Fork). It came with 700x35 tires.
Is there any way to put slightly larger tires on this bike like 700x40?
And if so is this something that's easy enough to do myself?
Thanks

Yes, 700x40 will fit. You will need the skills required to change a tire when you get a flat, so you should learn them now.
One thing to look at first is the back edge of the front derailleur. I have a 720 and with 35's
it just misses the tire.
I don't think a 40 would work on mine.

Thanks...looked and it looks like I have plenty of clearance all around on both front & rear wheel. Derailleur is the closest thing and that looks plenty far enough away to me..posting a pic.
Any suggestions on 700x40 tires/tubes for mainly packed gravel/dirt trail riding? Rails to trails type stuff. More concerned with stability & traction vs speed.
And just out of curusiousity...700x40 is the largest tire than i can fit on this bike/rim, right?

Last year I ran a set of those on my 2005 Trek Multitrack 7000. No problem with fit or performance. They wore down to the orange puncture resistant strip in 1900 miles. That was almost entirely on an asphalt paved trail.
