I've been following the forum for a short bit and want to introduce myself. I rode a bike as a kid and practically lived on it until my early 20's. Life and work got in the way with duties and chores and I rediscovered the love of a bike a year ago.

I started off with a used bike, a 7 speed Schwinn Gateway (because I always rode a Schwinn as a kid), it's a cruise about town kind of bike but I've taken her on lots of adventures. I realized I needed something with more gearing choices for the hills on the trails and paths that I frequent and a tad bit sportier. I ended up purchasing a Specalized Expedition Sport and love it!

I mostly ride paths, trails, streets around town and low traffic situations. I work very close to where I live and commute whenever I can. I seldom ride on high traffic or high speed roads, mostly because I live in a rural community with a small downtown and a lake smack in the middle of it.

I ride for fun, the joy of being outdoors, to challenge myself and for adventure. I'm a middle age rider who has some challenges with arthritis, however biking has opened up new avenues for me to enjoy the outdoors.

I look forward to continuing to reading the big variety of information available here.
