Does anyone know if the road from Estacada to Detroit is clear of snow? ODOT and Forest Service web sites neither one offer any help. I'm hoping to head across on Friday, but if there is still snow on top I need to reroute my trip.

Thanks

224 turns is plowed by the Forrest Service once you've hit the county line. Often the Clackamas side road is bone dry and then you hit a wall of 2-3ft deep snow. Try the Detroit Ranger Station for the Willamette Nat Forrest, they should know what the current conditions are:

Thanks, Greg. Not sure how I missed the email link when I was searching the FS website.

I've already had to make some changes to my planned trip due to the snowpack this year, I really don't want to get turned around on day one of a two week ride.

In case anyone else was considering riding this road, the Forest Service says it is clear. Once I got the proper email address (thanks again Greg_R) they were very helpful, as was the BLM with some other questions I had about this trip. Nice to see my tax dollars at work in a positive light.
