Touring - "extra wheel" trailer

I've looked closely at the "extra wheel" and think it would work just fine for my next tour because I need to pack a little extra food and water. My only concern is how it is attached to a bicycle. From pictures, it seems to be attached by the rear wheel hub "quick release". If that is the case, how does it pivot up and down without loosening the hub? I have extra bike frames, and am considering using them to make my own and attaching the pivot points to the frame similar to a kick stand mount rather than using the hub assembly. I also have extra rear bike racks which I would mount to the extra wheel rather than use the sling system.....any comments, pro or con, will be appreciated, thanks.

I got to cut rear fender a little so it can be use with Extrawheel.IMO this is a very good trailer that can go with you anywhere because it follow your rear wheel.

It's a special axle end, made for the purpose, it is not a common axle nut.

And since you are talking about making something out of old bike frames, know,
the towing fork is Spring Steel, Tempered, which is tough to do in a shade tree shop.

The ExtraWheel tracks beautifully and performs very well - there is absolutely no reason to make a different mounting system. I loved how easy it was to get it on and off - in a few seconds it was done. I never had any trouble with it coming off at all.
