I just got my first hybrid bike today and I'm loving it.
I have 7miles to work and I'm planning to use it for the commute (starting tomorrow)
Now, when I'm not riding to work I'd like to take my bike with me. I drive a BMW Z4 convertible... I'm terrify to put one of those cheapy target/walmart bike racks because of several obvious reasons:
1) it's a two seat car, if i kill the trunk I will have very (and i mean very) limited space for carry-ons, or say... my girlfriend =P
2) if the bike scratches/dents my car i'd probably end up paying more for the repair than what i paid for the bike.
3) are those bike racks even safe??? they look so flimsy...
I'm sure there are options out there I'm just a rookie and I dont know much about it.
Also i'd like to add i dont want to spend a too much money on a really expensive one or have to modify my car with a custom made one.
Thanks, Paul
