Long story short - Have a new boss at work and he loves to BBQ but won't tell us what, instead he gave us 4 hints on what he likes to BBQ most. I only get one shot submitting an answer.

4 hints below.

- What I like to roast lives above ground
- Does not have feathers (it is not in the bird family)
- Can be found in the wild and also on Farms
- It was a recognizable character on a TV show

Thanks

thanks guys. He also strikes me as a guy who would consider roasting ed the horse from the 60's. Don't think I'll get a day off but he did say it will be a surprise whoever wins.

Long Pork. TV character: host of General Electric Theater and Death Valley Days. Was actually found on a ranch, not a farm.

Easy - PORK!

I have not heard of too many farms that raise horse for food but I guess they exist. Not easy to get horse at Ralph's...

I considered "beef" but cattle is not often if ever found wild...at least in the USA and places that raise cattle for food are generally ranches, not farms. Pigs are always raise on pig farms.

I believe it is illegal to raise horses for food here in the US. You can raise them for foreign consumption, and you can eat your own horses, but selling them here is a no-no, I think.

two questions of my own:

1. Are there moose-farms?
2. Was there a TV Bison?

But it certainly seems pig would be the safest bet... (Porky & Arnold on TV series + Babe & Wilbur in movies)

Yes. The OP apparently got promoted to "dinner".
