Hello,

I have been in the market for a new bike, or at least I am dreaming to be in the market. I was originally set on the Haro Extreme X3 2005 model http://www.harobikes.com/2005/mtb/extreme-x3.php# but now that I have been looking around, and I have visited one of the many LBS, I found that the 2005 Big Hit is really sweet, and when I rode it I liked it. I still haven't been able to ride the 2005 x3.

The Big Hit looks like it is a better made bike and it is only about 300 bucks more. Here is the link for that:

I think one of the main differences is single to double crown suspension, althought they are both monitou. And from there the biggest difference that I can see is just design.


What do you think?

No contest. Bighit is by far a superior frame in strength, durability and is a very very proven suspension design. (not that a single pivot isn't)...

Imo, these two bikes aren't even on the same radar. Bighit has been used by thousands of aggressive riders doing big big drops (I have seen one survive 30+footer) while the x3 is not a proven or as used frame. Don't even think twice :)

If you are talking about the FSR bighit go for it. It's a better design and is well spec'd

Although Haro has stepped up and their design and quality has improved significantly over the last few years, it doesn't compare with the BigHit.

Spend the extra $300.00, it'll be worth every penny!

dude bighit hands down . just look at the pics the bighit looks sooooo much more beefy plus it has some time on it as a well know FR bike

Yes well you pretty much confirmed what I was allready thinking... thanks! I think that it is more than worth that 300 bones for the double crown suspension and for the better frame design, name etc. It is a proven frame, and it is a great year for these bikes. I just can't believe that it is only 300 bucks difference. Not even a question now!

Bighit, coming from someone who owns an x3 ('04 but whatever) get the bighit. I just can't wait till I have a bike that doesn't get dissed in every other thread. Oh I can't wait til i drop 5,000+ on a bike.
