Introductions - Rider Returning to bikes after 25 years... OY!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hello Everyone,

My sister motivated me to get back into riding. The last time I was serious, Reagan was president and I was half the age I am now!

I'm in Southern California and looking forward to getting back on the Santa Ana River Trail. There was a time I could do the entire length in one shot....oh how the fortunes have changed! Maybe they've added some campsites along the way???

I took one of my sons on the trail about 7 years ago and I kept telling him...It's ok if we don't do the whole thing. He finally gave in ;)

Anyway, the biggest thing I'm trying to adjust to is the fact that I cannot ride 20mph for hours... that train has sailed:D

Glad to have found this site and hope to be making some progress. Last year I was at an all time high of 286 and now down to 255 but want to lose more. I'm really trying to stay motivated because I really need to lose the gut.

Looking forward to being here,
Nigel

Welcome, Nigel!

Stop by the Southern California regional forum and say hello. The SART is a popular place for forum riders.
