Instead of a chin strap you get state of the art highly evolved "claw grips".

I have a smaller black version that I wear every night. One of the problems they need to fix is the incessent humming that gets worse if you tilt your head.

Take two... they're small!

Mine have grown to twice the size since these pictures were taken so I no longer have to use two to cover my head. Although, I suppose for serious MTBing I could do with full-face protection.

They also come with a convenient helmet bag too.

And they seem to at least claim to be machine-washable...

I was wondering if Lt. Dan realizes how inefficiently a cat would protect your head in a crash, not to mention that you would definitely need a replacement cat after that (if the cat doesn't jump off, first.)

Hmm... lately, I've been having this problem of my cats jumping on my head.

I have a hip protector/fat massager that I usually wear at night. It hums till it stops massaging and then locates itself up on my hip.

Good protection, but it makes for d@mn hard sleeping 'cuz I don't want to knock it off--then I'd have no hip protection. Husband has no use for hip protection so when the protector offers it's service to hubby, hubby usually launches it into space as a stealth fur rocket--or the protector rolls over to me to be used as a foot warmer!

My cats act like they love me... especially at mealtime and playtime... but I'm pretty sure they would abandon me in a crisis like a bike crash. It's the "cat way."

My helmet would have nicely reflective green orbs, but those would not offset the 18 pounds of allergy-inducing fuzzy grey neck-straining blissfully drooling feline lardage.
