I am a 55 year-old comeback cyclist who loves vintage rides. I still have my 1971 Schwinn Sports Tourer, and recently purchased a beautiful champaign, 23.5 inch 1972 Raleigh International from its original owner that is all original except for the 700 clincher rims. For safety reasons, I removed the Campy pedals installing Shimano SPDs. In the process of collecting spare parts, I realized I had everything needed to build another bike, so I have a 1971 chartreuse Raleigh International frame at the local bike shop having the BB serviced. This bike will, as the other, be all original components, except for the rims (27" Weinmann clinchers) and the gearing, which will be more suited to mountain and hill riding, with a 14-34 rear freewheel and 42-52 chainrings. The rear derailleur will be a Campagnolo Rally derailleur, first generation (slant parallelogram), but I have a 14-24 freewheel and a Nuovo Record rear derailleur if I want to return to original.

I'm looking forward to being involved in this forum!
