Books, Movies, Music & Entertainment - Cream Reforming

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Ok, this is for the old farts in the crowd (maybe I should post in 50+?)
but the original lineup; Jack Bruce, Ginger Baker, and Eric Clapton
are reforming for a 1 week stand in London's Royal Albert Hall next
year (2005).
So, anyone want to put me up for a week or so?

Look what I saw when I walked into Costco store. I couldn't believe my eyes.
Yep, you guessed it right. It was Cream nearly 30 years after their last concert. I wasn't old enough at the time when they were playing. I discovered their last concert in video way after they broke up. I had never inspired in musical way like that, all I could think of was picking up a guitar and start learning.
I guess it didn't seem significant when it(breaking up) happened but the legacy they passed on was picked up later by many younger musicians. Edward VanHalen for example, saying Eric Clapton was the early influence and he had practiced two of their songs "Cross Road" and "(Sitting on) Top of the World" every day.
I have heard many blues or blues inspired songs later but Top of the World by Cream is still one of the tastiest bluesy song(mostly performance) ever in my book.
But boy, Jack Bruce looked old in the video more so than Keith Richard. It's been said that he had failing liver and had tranplant operation. It was probably from too much drinking. You know how the out of work musicians spend their time.

It's over and there is no plan in the future.
You can still buy CD or video.

If you wanna hang out you've got to take her out; caffeine.
If you wanna get down, down on the ground; caffeine.
She don't lie, she don't lie, she don't lie; cafffeine.
If you got bad news, you wanna kick them blues; caffeine.
When your day is done and you wanna run; caffeine.
She don't lie, she don't lie, she don't lie; caffeine.
If your thing is gone and you wanna ride on; caffeine.
Don't forget this fact, you can't get it back; caffeine.
She don't lie, she don't lie, she don't lie; caffeine.
It's a hidden track on the new CD. In order to get to it, you have to enter the following gamepad/remote combination: Play-Pause-Stop-FF-Rew-FF-Rew-Mute-Dolby Pro Logic-Dolby Digital-Rec-TV-Phono-Aux-Radio-AM Band-Scan-Play. If you don't have a record player, i.e. Phono, you're SOL.

They've been playing the new version of Sunshine of Your Love on the radio here...sounds pretty good. I haven't heard the rest. Clapton said in one of the guitar mags they haven't ruled out doing it again. He also said he'd forgotten how hard it was to be the only guitar and have to play all the time with no breaks

Ah the Johnson legend continues to grow...you forgot to mention him selling his soul. Crossroads was his song. He wasn't shot, he died after sudden illness and it was suspected but not proven that he was poisoned.
OK, I just saw the Cream concert on PBS, with the surround sound set way loud. Those guys still ROCK!! Sound every bit as good as they did 40 years ago, outstanding! and wOOt! Jack Bruce is so fantastic, sorry we haven't heard more from him over the years, and Ginger Baker was also spectacular.
Fantastic
