Touring - Wifi availability in Northern Europe?

Howdy all, headed out in a couple of weeks to tour from Amsterdam to Copenhagen.

I'm trying to decide whether or not to bring my laptop with me (macbook air, solid-state everything). How available is free/public wifi in the Netherlands, Northern Germany, and Denmark? Will it be significantly more convenient for me to have the laptop vs. using internet cafes, hostel computers, warmshowers host computers?

Interested in your knowledge of wifi access, thanks.

I don't bring a note/netbook when touring (France usually) but have hosted many cycletourists and they often have netbooks and connect via my wifi.

From what I know of the areas you are going to tour I wouldn't expect too much problem getting free wifi. Plenty of Starbucks, McDonalds etc....

There is wi-fi everywhere. Many cafes offer free wi-fi. Look for a sticker stating so on the door. You might need to ask for the password, or it could be in the menu.

We even have inside toilets, and in most places trains that run without coal. Last week I even met a man who didn't have to wind his wristwatch. Apparently, it was powered by a battery. "Lordy", I said to Mrs G as she lit her pipe by the hearth, "they'll have men on the moon, next." She fixed me with her one good eye and called for the boy to fetch the laudanam and warned me that any more of that talk would have me picking oakhum in the sanitorium. ;)

Many McDonald's have wi-fi access, and you'll also find it near TI info centers and the like, and sometimes in very unlikely places (like a small, tucked-away square in the middle of Salzburg, Austria, for example).
