I have a new Giant Boulder bicycle which I got for a present. I am interested in replacing my stem so that I can lower my handlebars a little. I want to use a Kore race-forged aluminum stem I found online for short $$. It measures 1-1/8 x 0d x 105mm, with a 25.4 mm bar clamp. My current stem has a lot of rise to it, roughly "40d" I would estimate, based on looking at pictures of other "40d" Kore stems. Is my new stem an appropriate choice? I just use the bike for riding on trails for exercise and fun and also casual wheelies, endos, etc. Am I better off with a little bit of rise (like 10d?) Please feel free to correct me if I am misusing any terms. Thanks.
