I have a 2004 hardrock with a gila t4 and i way 100 pounds and i am looking for more cushion under $300 please

im over in the UK so im not sure what you can get for than price, but a set of Marzocchi MX Comps will do nicely.

Im from the Uk too, www.chainreactioncycles.com, they have a marz EXR fork on offer for £99.99 that will be a good upgrade for under £100

under $300 not sure. the lowest price (aftermarket) marz fork i know is the exr comp which is around the $400 mark. does "more cushion" mean more travel or just "better"?

You want to spend $300 on a fork when you have a $300 bike? I resisted upgrading my bike for that reason. You have the model with the adjustable fork, or is that just on the 2005? If you turn it one way or the other, it loosens or tightens a bit. I weigh 130lb, and depending on the temperature, I have trouble making it travel very far also. Doesn't budge a millimeter on cold evenings, maybe about 2cm on a 2 foot drop.

400$?...wow where do you shop. I have seen them for 250cdn in almost every shop. Thats like 175ish american :)

must be just me then. i was thinking the mx comps (sorry i know i said exr comp) which retail at AUD579 here which is about USD405. are they the lowest that marz has or am i mistaken?

mbhardrocke298 the Marzocchi MX comp would make a good upgrade. I am also from the Uk and do not know what you would pay in the US, you should be able to get a good deal on a 2004 Mx comp as the 05 forks are coming out.
I have an MX comp eta and it feels more expensive than it actual price, once its nicely bedded in it is a very active fork. It is also very reliable, I've had mine a year and a half and it still feel very plush.
About the comment " putting a $300 fork and a $300 bike " I don't think its wrong to do that, it will improve the bike immensly but it will also be a big upgrade over every other parts. But it will improve the value of your bike, and if you catch the upgrade bug you could upgrade all the parts in time and maybe even the frame, you will then end up with a really nice custom built bike.

Being such a light rider, he could easily go with the MX Comp or EXR... and then just put a set of soft speedsprings in it to make it more plush.

WEll my friend rides a Manitou Elite and hes very happy with it. Theres a pretty good deal on Cambriabike too.
