Well,
I was cycling back through London yesterday to get to London Bridge station, when I stopped at a set of traffic lights.
There was a carbon fibre Alan road bike outside this building (I was riding my Alan cross bike) and I was just admiring it. The bike courier came out of the building and unlocked his bike, turning around, I said "Cool bike", he looked at mine and said "likewise".
We got chatting and he said that his bike was driving him crazy, and it wasn't a great courier bike, and that carbon fibre creaks! I said I didn't have that problem on my aluminium Alan, and he asked me to swap right there, right then!!!
Well, before I could answer, the lights changed and I had to get going...but his bike was sweet....it had campag components everywhere...the only thing was, it was a road bike, and I'm into cross, so in fairness, I wouldn't get much use out of it...
Makes you think though...anyone else had someone offer swappsies?
