Hey there: going on a long ride this weekend where there will be sag stops. In the past, other than bananas, the fare has been cookies, pretzels and watered down gatorade. Thinking about packing some goodies to supplement those, and wondered what you thought about the following:
Peanut butter crackers,
Fig newtons
beef jerkey
oat & honey nutragrain bar
I'm what you would call a picky eater and this is what I could think of off the top of my head. If these don't seem to work in your opinion, what do you like thats portable. Oh and one more thing, would it hurt to take along some powdered gatorade/poweraid to beef up what they offer?

I always carry my own food and powdered Gatorade on organized rides.

If they don't have good stuff at stops, I then have it covered.

If the lines are too long, I have it covered.

I always just used Clif Bars. Edible, indestructible. Wife prefers Fig Newmans.

Not sure I would go with the beef jerkey, long digestion time as compared to other foods. Plus during exertion one needs carbs far more than protein.

For now powder nutrition I like:
Fig Newtons
Dates
Cliff Mojo Bar
Lara Bar

If you can stop off at a gas station or liquor store I like:
V8 Spicy
Coconut Water
Mountain Dew
Ensure (if really behind on calories)
Snickers
Anything really bready or tons of carbs

Perpetuem solids work for me. If you also carry Endurolytes, then all you need to find on the road is water.
