Classic & Vintage - HI.. i need help identifying my bike!!!HELP!!!

hey all..well first let me say that this is my first complete bike. i just got into biking aboiut a couple of weeks ago and my brother gave me this bike that he got off a lawn thinking it would be a good project bike for me... ok so here we go i have a peugeot and the decal say champion du monde but thats all.. ive read the history and so on but could not find the serial # underneth the bottom bracket, and the only other otption for me is to look in side the bottom bracket..but there are some numbers on the back right hand side of where the wheels lug in place(sorry like i said i am new to biking and i am not familiar with the bike terms).there is also a bike shop decal thats faded as well but it looks like it has sn plus 6 numbers.. and the lady my brother got it from said it was from the 60's so can anyone point me towards the right direction... I think most people would recommend that you upload your pictures to an image hosting website (like http://imageshack.us/, or http://www.flickr.com/).

Once you've done that, navigate to the page that contains only your image, and grab its web address.

Then, come back here, and write this in a post : addressofyourpicture
(don't forget to replace "addressofyourpicture" with the web address of your picture)

EDIT: prettyshady's website recommendation might be better than mine... it looks sleek, but I haven't used it before.

The bike is not going to make you rich, but might serve as a soilid bike to ride on if you are tall as the bike is very large. One would have to be 6 foot or taller to ride it.

The number on the bottom of the frame will give you an idea of the year, 6 digit's is usually 60's, 7 digits 70's. The first number is the year, so 512345 is 1965

Most the parts are original, the front forks look like they have been replaced and the rear wheel too.

mafac racer brake set, simplex prestige derailleurs.

The front derailleur is a bit high, you can see the chain rubbing on the bottom of the cage. That would need some adjusting for the bike to be useable.

I really like the look of that bike. It's the look I'm going after...if I can find an old bike that already looks like that. Lol.

like i was saying there are no numbers on the bottom bracket...the shifters looks like they have been replaced as well.. and the front derailleur fell off when i was bringing it home ... in the picture its not complete but you cant tell by that angle...

She needs a bit of work, but you can learn a lot by doing it yourself. And as long as it fits you, Pugs are nice riding steeds.

she does not fit me unfortunately, but i do plan to fix her up and at least ride her for a few.. shes my first bike and project all together.. basically my prize and pride

Looks like a late 70s UO8 with an 80s vintage fork, I bet the frame will actually clean up really well but as mentioned by others you won't get rich selling it in any condition.

The UO8 is a great riding bike though, I'm watching for just the right one to add to my own fleet at some point.

well i just got done looking into the uo8's and the only thing that matches up is the frame serial# being on the back drop out .. so i can safely guess that my bike is from the late 60's.. thats all i know for now but every other signs dont match up as a UO-orAO....and no i am not planning to sell this bike...its mines
