Hello all. I am getting back into cycling after my daughter talked me into it a few weeks ago. She and I road on the Silver Comet Trail here in Atlanta and I think I'm hooked. I just bought my first bike in 30 years and road it 15 miles the first afternoon. I have a '05 Trek 7500 and it seems to fit me and my needs perfectly. I am 57 years old and in good health. I have been on a diet for the past year and have dropped 50 pounds with virtually no exercise and now is the time to tone up a bit. I'm loving it and can't wait for my next ride this weekend....maybe Saturday and Sunday.

Ever ride around Stone Mountain?
Do any group rides?

Since I live in Marietta I haven't been to the Stone Mountain area in years but would like to ride there sometime. I haven't done any group rides yet, but I'm thinking about it. At this point I have only ridden my new bike once and will be out of town this weekend so a week from Sunday is my next full day. My daughter and I are planning to hit the Silver Comet. I want to do 10-12 miles with her and then she is going to run a 5k somewhere and I'm planning to ride another 10-12 in the afternoon if the body holds up.

My days off are Sunday and Monday's so I'm looking for someplace to ride Monday week also. Maybe some more of the Siilver Comet since I live in this part of town.
