Well, I couldn't resist this craigslist $10 bike. The white sparkle banana seat that was mounted to it was priceless (and it's now in the trash). Started out by yanking all the components off of it. A mish-mash of old shimano including some old Dura Ace that will get sold off later. It's destined to be a single speed and I don't know if I'm throwing just a kick brake or the kick with a front brake. I like the look of clean bars. I'll be chucking the old cottered cranks in favor of something a little more sturdy (or at least something that inspires more confidence).
My pictures are on my home computer so I grabbed some from the net. Mine looks (or looked) just like the first 2 pics and is now semi-stripped with the bead blasting cabinet. I have to scrape or soak the labels/stickers off then hit it again. Frame and forks are clean, no real corrosion at all.

Completely stripped and blasted and has the first coat of primer and then grabber green on it. Scraped it and have to scuff it up and do another 2 coats or more of the green. Doh! And yeah, obnoxious grabber green so nobody wants to steal it. It's pretty recognizable. I'm planning on going with a 3-speed kick-shift in the rear and sticking with just the kick brake. Nice and clean.

you ruined it!!! why did you paint it? the Velveeta yellow was a trademark color for Royce Unions along side the Caddilac Pearl White.

Is there a 3-speed kick shift now? I thought just 2-speed.
Looks like a great bike for what you have planned. Pretty fancy lugs for a low-end bike.
What kind & brand of paint?

I was hoping nobody would ask that. I went with some engine enamel I had left over from a VW diesel I rebuilt. It's dupli-color hi-temp ceramic and I wasn't going to use it otherwise...it's kind of obnoxious, but I like it. I'll post some pics soon. And yeahm there are some 3-kicks around now...gotta figure out which one to get....just an idea so far.

It'll get a top clear coat or 3 to get the shine to come out and the badge is masked off, no worries.
