Classic & Vintage - Brilliant Bugatti Bike (warning, grail content)

caryover from framebuilders... I'm completely in love with this kind of frame! Made by Art Stump based on a design by Ettore Bugatti of the car building fame. Ettore actually got his first break in the business aged 17 in a bike factory.

yeah, that guy as quite a set of lovely bikes. Not much (at least not shown) but all awesome in their own right. Quality over quantity.

I saw that pic a while back on Flickr. I think the guy who owns that is in the UK. I think he said Art only made 2 of those and each took about 1000 hours of labor.

10, according to this article. Must be a dream to own one. From what I;ve read about Stump and Bugatti I get the impression that both where great craftsmen, innovaters and artist in their respective fields. Awesome to see these two great minds fuse in such an elegant machine. Even though I think that when build with the original angles common of the time when it was designed the bike would have had more of the classic bugatti "swoopines". I recently saw a bugatti car in the flesh in the very nice louwman car museum and the way every line flowed and accentuated the entire picture just blew me away.

I didn't take that to mean 10 Bugatti frames. I took that to mean 10 frames total, of any variety.

"Art Stump also made only, approximately, 10 traditional diamond design frames that are highly thought of by collectors for their lug work and drilled components."

The guy who owns the Bugatti in your picture says only 2 were made. See thomasianson's comments here:
