You're either one or the other. j/m. It was just a rant. You have these 'Rescue Randy's' as I call them that join the FD and just ride on someone elses turnout gear and gets all this fame and glory. In my 10 1/2 yrs of EMS I can count all the times on 2 hands that I've had a family chase me down to give me a genuine 'Thank you.' It's not that I want a thank you but it's nice sometimes.

Possibly, but in my job (sound engineer) cupping the mic head creates a GIGO situation :).

But the monitors were facing me, there was not a feedback circuit in the cheep system they had and the only way to stop it was to cut the response from the rear of the microphone. They were not geting my hand signals to trim my pot down. They had no clue what I was trying to tell them. I did go set there board after my set was done. they were the owners kids. They were having fun. Ya know.

Not to be argumentitive, but cupping the backside of a cardiod mic will increase the feedback issues, I understand that the operators (teens) didn't know how to control the monitor feed though :)
