Mountain Biking - How about a DJ, Street, Park forum?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I would sure like to see the site open a forum catering to Dirt Jumping, Street and Park riding. Recently, I've found myself spending more, and more time over at the mountain bike review site because of their DJ, Street and Park board. I realize you have a BMX board, but that is just for folks who ride 20" bikes. We need something for folks who like to play around on heavy duty hard tail DJ bikes. Anyone else intrested?

This has been discussed and denied.

I'd like to see the MTB forum split into two sub-forums:
Gnar-shredders
Ghey-weenies

That was pretty-much denied too.

Hmm..I didnt know this. I wondered this myself but saw the BMX forum and noticed that it generally gets token visitation so assumed it wasnt a broader subject of interest that went on here. Some sub-genre topics have a larger more involved following on some other internet forum. Pinkbike.com for example.

BikeForums is an odd place. It just does not get visited by large numbers of people that would populate niche subforums, even if they existed. Most of the MTB visitors are very XC-oriented with a lot of crossover of road riders (a large BF group). Most people who are into DJ, street/park, freeride and downhill are over on other forums (especially RideMonkey, VitalMTB, MTBR, PinkBike). If such subforums were to be created here, I think you'd be disappointed at the amount of participation and end up having to look elsewhere anyway.

I can just imagine the threads being asked in one here. Would this motebecane fly xx 29er Ti be perfect for dirtjumping? For what it's worth, watching a person trying to ride a 29er on a pumptrack or dirt jumps is an extremely awkward experience.

There is an extremely small number of us here.
