Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - knee pain?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. just converted my roadie to a fixed....
i find that my knees are starting to hurt a little
this is obviously from the higher cadence of riding a fixed....
would that mean my riding position is incorrect?
or would it help to gear down
right now im running 52/20
.... gonna swap it to 52/17

You got it bass ackwards. Mashing a higher (harder) gear is worse than spinning a lower (easier) gear. You may have your seat too low
and / or poor pedalling technique.
i think my seat is too low.....
im ordering a new seatpost atm.... as my current seatpost is like a mere 180mm in length -.-

yeah your knees don't hurt from higher cadence but from mashing more off the starts and also stopping by resisting the pedals
riding SS will make my knees hurt a bit, riding FG made them hurt a lot  if you prefer to spin you can lower your gearing
