I have a totally "as NEW" Cannondale SR400.
The bike has never been used and stored indoors since new in 1991.

Could anyone give me an idea of the value.

Probably 1 million dollars.:) I sold one very similar last month for $275. Not as clean as yours of course. Early 90's 3.0 Criterium with a steel fork. Mix of 105, 600 crank, RSX brakes and the same wheels that you have. It was a 60cm and sold in 1 day. Since yours is smaller it will fit more bodies. These seem to get snapped up pretty quick compared to aluminum Treks from the same period, IMO.

I believe there is a good deal of Cdale appreciation here on BF so you will probably get plenty of advice.

Your location will also be a deciding factor if you are doing a local sale.

As new means tires are 20 years old, tubes are 20 years old, bearings and grease are 20 years old, etc. If it was a Black Lightning, there might be some good collectible value. SR400 does not have that cachet.

So it would sell as a Cannondale, in great condition, but needing some basic refreshing maintenance. Around here, about $275 (this is not So CA). No idea where you are located, so adjust up or down as needed. I am in a good solid, but probably average, market.

Cannondales that get more here are either touring models, or brifter bikes. Sold two brifter Cannondales last week.

The bike is beautiful. I'd say about $300. More if you take really hi-res pictures for the ad and post a ton of them for people to drool over. It's not often bikes that old are in that condition.

The tires look ok to me. I have a pair from 1984 that are still just fine. It really depends how they're stored. I'd say all it needs is a re-grease of the bearings.

I'd say maybe as much as $350 from someone who just really wanted a NOS Cannondale from that era, in that size and color. BUT, honestly: low-end bike with low-end (solid, but) components. Agreed on the need for tires, tubes and a total hub/headset servicing (don't remember offhand whether by then C'dale was using cartridge type BB's), but that's $100 out of pocket or more.

Depending on the market, I think you already have your answer regarding price. I'd pay $275 for it.

Not a fan of the 3.0, not when one can get a 2.8 for pretty much the same. No HeadShock, of course. I think it was a fine idea (I remember Bicycling Mag editor(s) or whatever swooning over that when it introduced) at the time I'm just not a fan of. . complexity.

I almost bought one for 360, but my facilitator bailed and the lady wanted $160 to ship. . and raised the price to $400.

Pretty well the bottom of the line for C'dale at that time.
While never ridden, it will need complete overhaul/regreasing of bearings + tires/tubes.
If it fits and you want/need it, then tops would be 225 bucks in my book.

The tyres are OK - checked by a dealer, and the re-greasing issue was also questioned as fortunately it has been stored indoors in a temperature constant room (third bedroom).
I'll ship anywhere in the world, so I have been advised to target Germany as there are many fans there who want American quality racing products.
A Swedish offer came in of 5000:- which is about $730.
Of course I should take this, but they need to put the money where their mouth is first.

Actually I do not want to sell it, but due to an injury, I'll never compete again and this bike was the insurance settlement - hence never ridden.

Storage condition has nothing to do with the need for hub service and regreasing. Grease just gets old and dries out- same with tires and any flexible rubber part. Any LBS who tells you otherwise is misinformed.
