i have a question for the riders that actually know what there talking about. Last March i bought a Federal Extension frame(my first mistake) and last month the head tube started to crack so my neighbor welded it.(my second mistake, because now the warranty is gone)then it cracked about 3 more times and i just kept welding it untill it cracked completly off. So i obviously need a new frame. i ride mostly street and park but every once and a while i ride dirt. I want a new frame that has 14mm drop outs american B.B.,20.5 top tube 990 mounts on the seat or chainstay (and not an internal headset). i want a srtrong frame but i don't want it to weigh 7 pounds or more. i was looking at the standard 250s and the kink freebird. any ideas?

FBM Night Train. Can't go wrong. I love love love this frame. It's a beautiful piece of bicycle. Get it, and you will not regret it.

Federal has 90-day warranty anyway (just like Mutiny and Volume), so it probably would have been void anyway. Out of the two frames that you listed, I'd go with the Freebird.

Standard stuff is incredible, and there are a lot of really good companies out there. Look for one that actually has a lifetime warrranty that they will honor. Then if you get more than about 2 years on the frame, do not try to use your warranty as you got a good life out of the bike.
Sucks your bike broke so quick.
If you really want to get something nice, look at the Ox Platinum frames from Standard as well.

i don't want the Ox platinum(like the standard 250s Ox) because i think it might not be as strong as the 250s because its a light machined material and i don't want any more cracked/broken frames hanging on my wall.
